Lynn Hatcher McGary - Master Teacher
(Sep 1949 until Jan 2009)
In a parenting seminar given in 2004, Lynn covered 14 points that will be briefly summarized on this blog, on Saturdays.
They are not in any order of priority.
#1 - Positive Affirmation.
When you get up in the morning, start the day off with a positive affirmation to your children. A good start for the day, despite the challenges of the previous day or the ones likely on that day, will bring the joy of Christ and thankfulness as the dominant theme to enable your children to be strong and encouraged.
We often sing a song, “Great is Thy Faithfulness” and a line there echoes scripture - “morning by morning new mercies we see.” If we can see the mercies of a perfect God each morning coming to us as imperfect children of God, how much more should we reflect God to our children by emulating that reality as their parents?
Because of the true redemptive relationship we have with God, “morning has broken like the first morning” in fellowship with God. Make your mornings unforgettably positive to your children - they will enjoy waking up - and make breakfast as special and uplifting as you possibly can.
